Gittany's girlfriend decides he's not worth waiting 18 years

SHE promised to stand by him "until justice is served" but it appears the prospect of waiting at least 18 years for convicted killer Simon Gittany to get out of jail, is too much for his girlfriend Rachelle Louise.

In the hours before the second part of her highly publicised Sunday Night interview aired on Sunday, the Courier Mail revealed Ms Louise was expected to give Gittany five years to prove his innocence before she starts a family with someone else.

Gittany was last week sentenced to 26 years jail over the balcony murder of his fiancé Lisa Harnum, with a minimum non-parole period of 18 years.

Ms Louise was absent from the courtroom due to her exclusive media deal with Channel 7, which is rumoured to be worth about $150,000.
