Graeme shines light on artists

GRAEME Stevenson is accustomed to shining a light on artists through his TV series, Colour In Your Life.

"I like to think the show acts as a medium for people to tell the world what they do," he said.

"It's all about the creative process of the individual."

My Daily News tracked down the chief executive officer of the production and accomplished artist in his own studio at Murwillumbah this week.

He has been a practising professional artist for 30 years, having turned his hand to the canvas at the age of five, and has exhibited all over the world.

Head of production for the series Sophia Stacey was in the throes of filming Mr Stevenson in action as he demonstrated the use of water colour.

"I call her genius.com.au," Mr Stevenson laughs.

"She is amazing."

He started out filming the series himself, having gone back to college to learn the ropes in multi media.

"I filmed the first six but they lacked technique," he said.

Colour In Your Life is linked to an online site dedicated to promoting the creative arts and Australian artists.

The team behind the series recently nominated for a Logie award sets out to create a library of the minds of artists and to reach out to the creative spark in all people.

"It has been a great discovery tour," Mr Stevenson he said.
