Kookaburras defeated by the Netherlands in Hockey upset

AUSTRALIA has tasted defeat for the first time at the men's World League Finals in India after world No.3 and London Olympic silver medallists, the Netherlands, beat the Kookaburras 1-0 in the Pool B clash.

Australia had opened its campaign with a 3-2 defeat of Belgium on Friday.

Despite the loss to the Dutch, the Kookaburras remained second in the pool on goal difference ahead of tonight's clash with table-topping Argentina.

England is top of Pool A after downing Olympic gold medallists Germany 2-1.
