Manhunt on for Surfers Paradise hotel gunmen

GOLD Coast police were searching yesterday for two men believed to have barged their way into a Surfers Paradise hotel room and shot a man.

The men fled the scene before police responded to calls. The shot man was taken to hospital with a stomach wound.

Gold Coast police Acting Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said the two men had become the Gold Coast's new "most wanted".

"Two men have entered the unit, and there has been an altercation, which ended in a person being shot," he said.
