North's run against Folau was one for the ages
REGARDLESS of the outcome of Saturday's final Test in Sydney, giant British and Irish Lions winger George North ensured his run in the 61st minute of the second Test in Melbourne will be talked about long after the series has been won, or lost.
In an image which will live long in the memory of rugby fans, the Welshman picked up his attempted tackler, Wallaby counterpart Israel Folau, and carried on running forward with him on his shoulder - North, we must not forget, was also carrying the ball.
Neither should we forget that Folau weighs in at 98kg and stands 1.95m tall, but he looked like a rag doll as North, who tips the scales at 108kg, and is 1.83m tall, pumped his legs and gained significant ground with Folau going along for the ride.
North even used his passenger as a shield for would-be tacklers as he powered forward.
The Wallabies may have won the night to level the series, but it was North who stole the show as photoshopped images of him carrying Folau went viral, prompting wags to advertise sales of the 'Israel Folau Backpack, as worn by George North'.
