St Kilda may be out, but they're not down

ST Kilda's premiership window may be well and truly closed, but coach Scott Watters has promised supporters the club will move quickly to start building for another assault on a long-awaited second flag.

With ageing stars Nick Reiwoldt, Lenny Hayes, Nick dal Santo and Justin Koschitzke on their last legs, Watters said yesterday the club would aggressively explore every trade option after the end of the season.

"What I can say to our supporters is that we now have our salary cap in a very aggressive position," he said.

"Probably for the first time in 24 months it's in an offensive position and we intend to make some additions to this club at the end of the year."
