A rocky reception
TERRANORA residents may be stumped to see their neighbour's interesting approach to parking.
Four-wheel drive enthusiast and pilot Gary Biggs has a specific reason for having his Land-Rover parked on a 45-degree angle on the retaining wall in his front yard.
Today is no ordinary day for Gary.
"I'm getting married."
He said he needed a landmark for the 60 wedding guests to find his house, where he will host the reception tonight.
"I told them to look out for the Land-Rover."
Chances are nobody will miss it.
The retaining wall was exactly that until one day Gary and a mate had a flash of inspiration.
"We were working in the garage and we thought we'd see how far we can get up the retaining wall.
"There's a lack of trails around," he said.
"So I had to make my own in my front yard.
"There's nothing for a four-wheel drive enthusiast around here."
Gary was not pleased when his favourite spots were closed to four-wheel drives.
"To lock all that up and call it national heritage is stupid.
"It's all locked up for locked-up sake," he said.
"I love nature as long as I can drive."
Gary also likes to fly and his niche business gave him the perfect way to propose to his soon-to-be wife Cheryl.
"I do the signs behind the planes," he said.
And one day the sign behind his plane read "Marry me Cheryl".
Much to his delight, she accepted his proposal and at 3pm today the couple will become husband and wife.
The newlyweds will travel to the Greek Isles for an extended honeymoon.
