Driver charged over bus crash

A VARSITY Lakes man has been charged with negligent driving after he crashed a school bus into a parked car in Tweed Heads.

A NSW Police spokesman said the 69-year-old man was issued with an infringement notice for negligent driving after the Friday afternoon crash.

Four of the 24 children on board the bus sustained minor lacerations and one student was taken to the Tweed Hospital with a suspected dislocated finger.

The bus hit a utility parked on Ducat Street, shunting it about 20m into a brick fence.
