Accused murderer remanded in custody

MURDER-accused Blaze Seaton Pearce has been remanded in custody until May for a committal mention.

The 36-year-old is charged with murdering Michael Ronald Gelens on December 18 in West Mackay.

The matter is being handled in-house by Legal Aid Queensland.

The Mackay Magistrates Court heard defence is still seeking six outstanding statements in addition to a pathologist's report.

Only a partial brief has been received, the court heard. Pearce appeared via video link.

The matter was adjourned to May 6.
