Ackerman findings due after dad's fatal on-field collision

A CORONER is expected to shed more light on Thursday on how rugby league player James Ackerman died.

Mr Ackerman, Sunshine Coast Falcons player, died after an on-field collision with Francis Molo of the Norths Devils in June 2015.

An inquest four months ago examined player safety issues, including the use of shoulder charges in the sport.

Deputy state coroner John Lock also examined the actions of Queensland Rugby Football League, police, and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland after Mr Ackerman's death.

Mr Lock is expected to deliver the inquest findings in Brisbane on Thursday morning.

Mr Ackerman, a father of two, was 25. - NewsRegional
