Actors wanted for Dahl classic
THE Murwillumbah Theatre Company is calling all actors to take part in an entertaining production of The Fantastic Mr Fox.
The show is based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, which tells the tale of Mr Fox who each night steals from three mean and wealthy farmers called Boggis, Bunce, and Bean.
Director Colin Elliott said a large number of cast members are needed to bring the stage show to life.
“We need a cast of 40 people of all ages to do speaking and non-speaking parts,” Mr Elliott said.
“Last year we performed James and the Giant Peach, and we had so much fun with it that we couldn’t resist going back to do another Roald Dahl classic.”
Mr Elliott said auditions for The Fantastic Mr Fox will be held at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre on August 11 at 7pm and actors are not required to learn material beforehand.
“We just ask that people come along with their enthusiasm and they will be given a piece to read,” Mr Elliott said.
“It will be a lot of fun but a big commitment.”
The show will run over three weekends in late October and early November, including two daytime school performances.
