Ancient mysteries and future predictions on display
THE ANCIENT Mysteries are being revealed in Murwillumbah, with the Ancient Connections exhibition at the Seventh Day Adventist church in Racecourse Road being held until October 10.
The exhibition has replicas of Tutankhamen's tomb, the Dead Sea scrolls, biblical archaeology, table of hieroglyphics, cuneiform writing and much more.
One of the main attractions, and one that is very hard to miss, is a 33 metre high replica statue air sign that depicts the future of the world.
"This is the biggest free standing air sign in the world with 2,600 years of the history of the world," pastor Peter Howard said.
The future came to King Nebuchadnezzar in a dream who reigned in the year 605BC and was the first king of the Babylonian empire.
The statue comes in five different elements, a head of Gold for Babylon, body of silver for the Persian Empire, waist of Brass for the Grecian empire, and iron legs down to the feet of present day.
"It's a show stopper this fella," Mr Howard said.
The statue was first put up on Friday, but strong winds blew it over and it got ripped, so the new one went up over the weekend and is visible for all to see.
The Exhibition has over 180 pieces to keep people enthralled and tonnes of history to learn.
There will also be a seminar presented by Justine Lawman at the Murwillumbah cultural and Civic centre held on October 9 at 7pm.
The times for the Exhibition are Sunday through to Thursday from 10am until 8pm.
