Antique fair puts a shine in the eyes of bargain hunters

THE 15th Tweed Antiques and Collectables Fair is on again next month.

This year's fair will be held on the weekend of August 10-11 at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre, Brett St, from 9am-5pm Saturday and 10am-3pm Sunday.

The Tweed Gold Coast Family History and Heritage Association holds the fair each year as a fundraiser.

Exhibitor Pat Dunne said she looked forward to the fair.

"I am keen to look at everyone's antiques and every year I end up buying something," she said with a smile

The event will include an array of antiques, collectables, furniture, jewellery, toys, fine china, decorative glassware, crystal, books, postcards and more.

There will be something that appeals to the antique collector, the enthusiastic decorator or the lover of antique and vintage items.

"Last year's fair went very well, with a bit over $8000 profit for our family history group," Marion Kelso, one of the fair's organisers, said.

This year they have even more dealers attending the event.
