$103,000 for school works



FIVE schools in the Tweed area will share in more than $103,000 from the NSW Government for building projects.

In announcing the funding at one of the recipient schools, Kingscliff Public, the Member for Tweed, Neville Newell, said the Government matches funds raised by school communities, dollar-for-dollar.

"Each community chooses its own project and then the P&C raises funds for the work," Mr Newell said.

Funding being provided to local schools includes $9,000 towards covered walkways at Kingscliff Public School, $5,000 towards covered walkways at Crabbes Creek Public School, $2,400 towards facilities at Cudgen Public School, $6,796 to convert a special programs room at Terranora Public School and $80,000 for a special programs room at Uki Public School.
