$133mil to expand infrastructure



MAJOR projects proposed in the Tweed Shire Council's seven-year infrastructure plan.

A speed-up in the resurfacing of roads to cover more than the 25km currently resealed each year

Upgraded libraries

Upgrading the council-run coastal holiday parks as a possible means of providing extra income to offset the cost of maintaining 37 kilometres of coastal reserves

Swimming pool upgrades at Murwillumbah and Kingscliff along with a long-awaited three-level car park adjacent the Murwillumbah pool

A new community centre for Murwillumbah to replace the current small shed-like centre in Knox Park

New carpet and roof for the Murwillumbah Auditorium (in the Civic Centre)

New sport and recreational facilities

An upgrade of Murwillumbah's council-owned livestock saleyards

l A new museum in "a significant building" at Pioneer Park in West Tweed Heads

A new traffic bridge across Cudgen Creek south of Kingscliff

A botanical garden developed in conjunction with the new Tweed Valley lawn cemetery at Eviron, north east of Condong
