All-girl 8-ball team to give the blokes a run in titles

Jeanie Bartley, manager of the NSW team to fight out the 21st Annual 8-Ball Nationals tournament on the Gold Coast next month, said pool was a game where women could be the equal of men yet they were often deterred from playing because it was still seen as a man's game.

Bartley (pictured above) has organised an all-female team to contest the national titles at the Marriott Court in Surf- ers Paradise from November 9-20 with team members com- ing from South Tweed, Bal- lina, Byron Bay and Sydney, as well as herself.

As well as contesting the team titles, Bartley and other team members will take on the individual player competi- tion in the testing conditions where they could play up to 12 games a day.
