Country kids beating boredom

A GROUP of Chillingham youths has found a new way to chill out after school. Aged 11 to 17 years, the CYCOS (Chillingham Youth Committee Organisers) have started a drumming workshop to run for 10 weeks. Part of a new Tweed Council-backed initiative to provide fun activities for the youth of the area, Drumming Circle is open to anyone under the age of 18. CYCOS spokesperson and Drumming Circle member 14-year-old Beau Wills said the group provided a good chance to hang out with friends. Tweed council youth devel-opment officer Margaret Strong said the area lacked entertainment facilities,%especially for the young. The group was given $2000 to develop new ideas for%entertainment which include a Youth Activity Day at the end of the year.
