Cr Boyd?s 40yrs to be honoured



TWEED residents have been invited to celebrate Cr Max Boyd's 40 years in local government next Saturday with a function featuring the Barry Singh Quartet.

The shire's longest-serving councillor and former mayor recently reached the Statewide milestone which prompted family and friends to organise the "surprise" birthday party for him.

The event, to be held at Murwillumbah's Civic Centre on November 20 from 6pm, will include a light supper with tea/coffee provided.

The theme of the night is Max the man, his music, our valley and an invitation mailed out to Tweed residents this week described him as a "man with passion for the Tweed shire and its people".

An organiser said tickets, costing $20 per person, were still available and people could pay for them at the door.
