CRANKY COPS STRIKE THREAT
FURIOUS Tweed police have threatened to take industrial action if they do not receive a state government guarantee their numbers will be bolstered urgently.
At a fiery police union meeting this week the cranky cops issued an ultimatum to Tweed MP Neville Newell to give an iron-clad assurance of improved police numbers and resources for the region.
If their demands are not met by 6.01pm tomorrow highway patrol officers say they will initiate strike action. Fears about officer safety is the major thrust behind their demands.
