Culture on a summer?s evening

STOKERS Siding Hall will come alive with the sound of music next month when local resident Lena Wyllie and friend Elenor Sapir hold their first Epiphany night.

The monthly events will be held to give expression to talented artists in music, dance, poetry, theatre and comedy and will include a two-course dinner.

Ms Wyllie, who has lived at Stokers Siding for three years, said some years ago she held similar nights in Canberra.

"I decided to do it again here to create a regular community night with dinner and live local music," she said.

"We want families to feel welcome and eventually would like to incorporate an art display on the night as well. I think there is a need for something like this in the community."

Ms Wyllie said this month's performance would feature Melbourne singer Polly Christie, who is also performing at the Woodford Folk Festival; local singer and tabla player Rochelle Bowles; local composer David Weir and singer-songwriter Elenor Sapir.

Ms Wyllie said the first Epiphany night would be held on January 7 and would include a two-course meal and entertainment for $15.

Bookings to Lena on (02) 6677 9457 by January 3.
