Day of drama!

IT has been a horror few days for the Tweed with the coast continuing to be threatened by bushfires and then a shocking car accident near Banora Point yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters struggled to contain blazes near Cabarita and Wooyung as residents prepared to be evacuated from their homes and students at Ocean Shores Primary School were sent home.

Meanwhile, a man had to be cut from his car which had ploughed into the back of a stationary truck at the on-ramp to the Tweed Bypass at Darlington Drive.
