Drugs seized in West Tweed house raid

DRUGS with a street value of $5000 were seized from a house at West Tweed Heads yesterday afternoon.

A tip-off to police by community members is believed to have helped rid the area of a small quantity of drugs after reporting suspicious activity in The Quarterdeck.

Tweed Heads Police were acting on information received from members of the public in relation to the comings and goings at the address.

Tweed Detective Frank Natoli said detectives had executed a search warrant at the suburban property.

"A quantity of cannabis and ecstasy was seized from the premises," Det Natoli said. "A 34-year-old male is to be charged with possession and supply of prohibited drugs."

"He will be bailed to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on October 31."
