GO GULLS!

By ADAM WRATTEN

LOCAL footy doesn't get any better than this.

Tomorrow's Queensland Cup local derby between fierce rivals Tweed Heads and Burleigh is going to be a blockbuster.

So let's get behind the Tweed team and get down to Piggabeen for the day.

After a promising start to the season, Tweed went down to the competition's joint leaders Easts last week.

Tomorrow they'll be looking to get things back on track against last year's premiers.

It's going to be a tough ask for the young Tweed side.

Burleigh coach Rick Stone has put together a quality outfit which has swept all before it in recent seasons. With five ex-Tweed players among its ranks, Burleigh is flying high again this campaign.

Burleigh will start favourite, but Steve Murphy's side is used to the underdog tag.

They have a great record against the Bears, winning three of their four clashes.

And, they have nothing to lose.

With local pride on the line, expect fireworks.

This game will be much better than anything on television.

And if you can't make the game, there's plenty of other sporting action happening across the Tweed this weekend and every weekend. Just check out our sports coverage inside.
