Gold Coast bolster A-League roster

AAP

FLEDGLING A-League club Gold Coast United has unveiled six new additions to their roster for their inaugural 2009-10 season.

Perhaps the biggest capture in Friday's announcement by United chairman Clive Palmer is Melbourne Victory midfielder Steve Pantelidis.

New Zealand appears to be a key hunting ground for the new franchise with former Wellington Phoenix player Kristian Rees to join current Phoenix star Shane Smeltz at Gold Coast in 2009-10.

Also bolstering the defence for United will be Newcastle Jet Daniel Piorkowski while Central Coast midfielder Matt Osman and former New Zealand Knights duo Zenon Caravella and Steve Fitzsimmons round out the new signings.

Friday's confirmation brings United's confirmed roster for next season to 10.
