Gulls target M?bah kicking

Rugby League

SEAGULLS will look to pressure Murwillumbah halves Matt Harley and Ben White in a bid to derail the Mustangs' short kicking game in tomorrow's major semi-final at Piggabeen Sports Complex.

Seagulls coach Troy McCarthy yesterday said Murwillumbah's cross-field and grubber kicks were key attacking weapons for the Mustangs, who had quality players like winger Ricky Lang and fullback Shannon Murphy waiting to pounce on any opportunities.

McCarthy and his Murwillumbah counterpart Con Theodossiou are both expecting a quick tussle tomorrow.

"Con is an astute coach and he will have done his homework after we beat them (36-22) at their place last time," McCarthy said.

"But we are a flexible side and will adapt."

Theodossiou said it was crucial his side controlled the ball.
