Harley scores state gold medal



MURWILLUMBAH East student Harley Chapman is the toast of North Coast athletics ? winning the region its only gold medal at the NSW Primary School Sports Association track and field championships in Sydney.

Harley grabbed gold (for the second year in a row) in the 12-13 years shot put (multi-disability section). The school is very proud of Harley who trained extremely hard to get there.

The Tweed also produced two silvers and a bronze medal.

Kingscliff primary duo Fenella Barnes and Caleb Ziebell both scored silver medals.

Fenella, a national medallist last year, was second in the 11-years, 200m race.

Her schoolmate Caleb Ziebell won his silver in the boys' junior discus.

Meanwhile, Mt St Patrick Primary student Lincoln Booth was a bronze medallist in the 100m 11-years boys' event. Lincoln was first in his heat and third in the semi-final.
