CUDGEN has secured several new signings for next season's Northern Rivers rugby league competition including a former English Super League halfback and a handful of players who have lower-grade experience with NRL clubs.
Less than two months after the 2005 Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League competition wound up, the Hornets are looking genuine contenders for next year's title.
In a busy start to the off-season, coach Jamie Mathiou has secured:
Former Hull hook- er/halfback Craig Cook, who played this year with the Doncaster Dragons;
Todd Skinner, a centre/lock who starred with the Redcliffe Dolphins a couple of years ago and was also a member of the Rooster's Jersey Flegg outfit;
Former Rabbitohs Jersey Flegg centre Tim Mason;
Don Dickson, who played Premier League with the Bulldogs and St George, and moves to the Hornets from Grafton; and
Troy Hilder, a centre who had a stint at Manly, and arrives from South Tweed.
