MURWILLUMBAH coach Con Theodossiou is expecting Kyogle's big forward pack to try and take on his forwards tomorrow, and hardworking prop Steve Kirkham is one who will have to stand up to the onslaught.

Theodossiou is confident the tough forward will be up to the task.

Kirkham has been one of the Mustangs' best players in their two games so far this season.

"He gives us plenty of go-forward," Theodossiou said.

"And he is quick in the play the ball area which also helps."

The Mustangs have worked hard in training after last week's bye, focusing on improving their completion rate.

"At the moment it's been about 50-60 percent," Theodossiou said. "We need to get it up to at least 75 percent."

The Mustangs had a hard-fought first-round victory against Mullumbimby in the first round before drawing 38-all with Seagulls in round two.

Murwillumbah could be without centre Jason Willis (infected knee). Robert Reid is also out (away).

oMeanwhile at South Tweed, Gene Slockee moves to fullback for the club's game tonight away to Mullumbimby.

Regular custodian Chris Humphries is out with a dislocated shoulder.

Humphries is expected to be out for one week and should return for the club's big clash against Seagulls next Friday night.

South Tweed player/ coach Brock Mathers is expecting a tough game.

Mullumbimby, last year's Group 1 premier, has lost its first three games.

"It's definitely going to be tough," Mathers said. "But we are really confident.

"We have been slow starters in our games so far, so I'll be looking for the players to be ready from the start."

He said winger Reece Sandey had been one of the team's star performers.

MURWILLUMBAH: Shannon Murphy, Ricky Lang, Lionel Foster, Brad Wann, Ryan Murphy, Matt Harley, Ben Peterson, Lyndon Murphy, Jarrod Brown, Steve Kirkham, Jarrod Flick, Glenn Weaver, Daniel Gray. Interchange: Clint O'Keith.

SOUTH TWEED: Gene Slockee, Reece Sandey, Marcus Corrawa, Matt Manning, Robert Kelly, Dave Monkley, Lee Hicks, Brock Mathers, Kane Stannard, Joe Tuala, Michael Kelly, Mark Mulherin, Ricky Conti. Interchange: Bruce Right.
