Light up your Christmas and win

THE spirit of Christmas is upon us and the Daily News and Tweed City Shopping Centre would like to know if you and your family are getting into the Christmas spirit this year.

You could be lighting up your house, your business or doing something special in your neighbourhood to spread the Christmas message. Again this year, the Daily News and Tweed City Shopping Centre are encouraging residents to shed some light on Christmas and we have some special competitions for those who do so.

The first competition is the Most Creative Christmas Light Display.

Tweed City Shopping Centre is giving away a $500 shopping spree to the display which is the most creative in the Tweed. You don't have to display the most number of lights to win this competition, just put your imagination to good use and come up with some innovative ideas.

For businesses, the Best Decorated Business on the Tweed can win a $500 advertising package in the Daily News.

Finally we will have a special award for the family or individual who displays the best Christmas spirit.

We know at Christmas, there are people who go out of their way to do special things for others and for the person who displays the best Christmas spirit, Tweed City Shopping Centre will present a $250 shopping voucher.

There is no limitation to what you or your family does to make Christmas brighter. It could be a Christmas display of orna- ments or decorations around your house, baking Christmas goodies for those in need, dressing up as Santa to give lollies out to children, volunteering your services on Christmas Day at local soup kitchens or organising a Christmas party for your street.

Tell us in 100 words or less what special things you do at Christmas that spreads some Christmas cheer and we will publish the winning story on Saturday, December 18.

To be in the running for any of our competitions, check out the entry coupons in today's Daily News on Page 10.

Entries close on Tuesday, December 14 and winners and a list of all entrants and a map of where to find them will be published on Saturday, December 18.
