Memorial day for devoted man of the horses

TWEED Valley Equestrian Group will hold a memorial hack day on Sunday to hon- our a man who couldn't ride a horse.

Riders from around the Northern Rivers and as far as Brisbane will converge on Murwillumbah Showground on Sunday for the Cliff Cartwright Memorial Trophy day.

The Cartwright family of Terranora is well-known in Tweed equestrian circles with Cliff and Judy Cartwright prominent in organising horse shows for many years.

Cliff Cartwright died in November last year after an extended battle with cancer and a memorial day has been instituted in recognition of his many years of volunteer work.
