Moore goals ensure Kingscliff win

By TANIA PHILLIPS

KINGSCLIFF forward Kelli Moore produced an awesome attacking display in her side's 9-0 demolition of Lismore District rivals Northern Star in their JH Williams Premier League at Murwillumbah on Saturday.

Moore scored a hat-trick of goals in each half as the Kingscliff outfit rode roughshod over Northern Star.

Sam Morton and Debbie Dolan controlled the midfield while Moore and fellow for- ward Lorrelle Morrissey found the net with ease.

Up 3-0 at halftime, Kingscliff put their opponents to the sword in the second stanza, running in six unanswered goals.

While Moore was the chief destroyer, Morrissey chimed in with two goals while Debbie Dolan scored off a penalty corner conversion.

Kingscliff led the way on a good day for the Tweed clubs, who dominated the round.

Redbacks beat home side East Lismore 3-2 while Waratah Falcons maintained their place atop the points ladder with a 2-0 against Glee at Murwillumbah and stay on top of the ladder.

The Falcons dominated the early stages of the clash but were unable to convert their many chances with a Perrea Dunn penalty conversion in the 16th minute the only score in the first half.

Glee went on the attack in the second stanza but any run was quickly snuffed out by Falcons defenders Amy Paron, Perrea Dunn and Candis Philip.

A late goal to Ebony Philip sealed the result.
