Revealing mysteries

EVER wanted to know what the future holds or delve into some past lives? Well get ready, because it will be all happening when the psychics hit town tomorrow.

Psychic Catherine Peters will be just one of the 14 readers available for readings at the Psychic Expo to be held at Twin Towns Services Club which continues until Wednesday next week.

Ms Peters, who has more than 60 years experience, said she would be reading palms, numerology and tarot cards.

"I was previously a nurse and found I could help people and give them great comfort - something I feel I am meant to do," she said.

"I just have the ability to feel for anyone that comes in and am also able to see past lives.

"But to have a successful reading people must be relaxed so we can get in and feel what you want to know."

Ms Gardiner said her general prediction for Australia in 2006 was that it would not be an easy year.

"In terms of conflict and fighting - there will be more unrest in Australia and I feel we need to love and trust one another more to overcome this," she said.

"We will also have a lot more heavy rain this year, particularly in north Queensland."

Ms Gardiner could also foresee some rain ahead for Tweed during the week of the expo.

"I'm hoping it will be fine for the psychic expo, but I'm afraid it will be a period of rain and storms," she said.

Expo co-ordinator Konnie Gold said the event was now in its 11th year and had become widely accepted in the mainstream.

"It's become a fairly common thing these days," she said.

"We have all professional readers and lots of lectures and workshops."

Ms Gold, who initially started the expo to raise funds for the spiritual church in Southport 11 years ago, said the expo had grown in popularity and was always very busy. "Entry to the expo is free and everyone is welcome to come along," Ms Gold said.
