Robina Expo a success

THE first Robina Business Expo has been heralded a resounding success by the Robina Chamber of Commerce president Wayne Atkinson.

Mr Atkinson said he was extremely pleased with the number of exhibitors and the support from sponsors including The Gold Coast Mail.

"We had 68 spots for exhibitors at the expo and we sold 62 of those," he said.

"This is a strong indication of business support in the area, and other areas including Canungra and Tweed Heads, and this expo will become an annual event."

"We'll now start planning the expo for next year and continue to offer more back to members."

Mr Atkinson said the chamber had tried to provide an opportunity for all businesses to be part of the expo at a reasonable cost.

Area Councillor Jan Grew said small business was very important to Robina which was fast becoming the business leader of the Gold Coast.

"We are the fastest growing area of the Gold Coast with Robina and Varsity Lakes and our aim is to have the biggest chamber on the Gold Coast as well as the most proactive," she said.

"I have no doubt that the Robina/Varsity area will be the business hub of the Gold Coast with all the services like the rail, library, hospital shopping centre and parking - already here."
