Special day remembered

LOYAL turnouts were a highlight of the Tweed RSL Remembrance Day commemorations on Saturday.

At Goodwin Park, Coolangatta, about 300 people attended a memorial service for the Tweed Heads-Coolangatta RSL Sub-Branch, before many returned to the Anzac Room at the Twin Towns Services Club.

Sub-branch junior vice president Arthur Jordan OAM said it was encouraging to see young people among the crowd, including Tweed River High School Captains Carly Flood and Jesse Edwards.
