Step up for cancer research

CANCER never sleeps, and neither will those participating in the Queensland Cancer Fund's "Relay For Life" at Tugun Leagues Club ground on March 18.

Teams of supporters are being encouraged to take part in the fun overnight event and help in the fight against cancer.

Relay for Life project officer Krissy Thatcher said community assistance was vital in the search for a cure for cancer.

The event will begin with a cancer survivors walk, run or wheelchair around the oval for the first lap of the overnight challenge. The highlight of the evening will be the Candlelight Ceremony at dusk to honour cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost the battle against cancer.
