Taking on One Night Stand

THE heat is on for Triple J's One Night Stand Competition, and Tyalgum's Michelle Van den Broek is determined that Tyalgum will win this year.

As part of the competition criteria, cardboard cutouts of Triple J breakfast hosts Jay and the Doctor have to be taken around the tiny town, and this week Michelle took the breakfast crew to Kingscliff beach.

Signatures of support are also needed to petition Triple J to hold their One Night Stand concert in Tyalgum which will feature performances by: the Hilltop Hoods, Shihad, End of Fashion and Katalyst on May 18.

Michelle is calling on local schools, businesses and music teachers to take up the challenge and help get signatures. Forms are available from Michelle on 0403 261 584 or email michellevdb@hotmail.com, and need to be returned by April 11. You can also sign petitions at Tyalgum Hotel, Flutterbies Cafe, Tyalgum General Store, The Buzz Bar, Murwillumbah Newsagency, Murwillumbah Music, Tweed City Shopping Centre and Centro Tweed information desks.
