A LEGENDARY line-up of high-profile surfers from former pros to current pros - will take to the waves for the fifth annual Quiksilver Boardriders Club Surf For life at Surfers Paradise beach this Saturday.

The semi-serious and fun competition is in aid of the prevention of youth suicide and dedicated to raising the awareness of the Bounce Back Foundation - a non-profit organisation that enables elite athletes to improve the mental, physical and emotional health of young Australians.

BBF provides a vehicle for athletes to assist youth in depression, alcohol and drug education and diet promotion.

The competition will take the form of a team event with each team comprising of a celebrity, a sporting identity and a pro junior surfer.

The A-team list of celebrities and pros reads like a who's who including: former world champions Tom Carroll, Martin Potter and Lisa Andersen, current pro juniors Julian Wilson and Stephanie Gilmore, national retailer and former professional Paul Neilsen, Darren Handley (the high profile shaper for Joel Parkinson and Mick Fanning, recent winner of the Alley Classic, Damon Harvey, former ASPWCT top 16 John Shimooka, Burleigh Boardriders President and Gold Coast City Lifeguard Ash Humphreys, and sporting celebrities Gary Belcher, Ben Ikin and Tony Longhurst plus co-founders and patrons of the event Murray Bingham and his wife, Nicky Buckley.
