Tweed Coast gets TV travel show boost

KINGSCLIFF and the Tweed Coast were the stars of a television shoot yesterday when the team from the Nine Network's Getaway did a segment on the area.

With an emphasis on the new resort of Outrigger at Salt, the team also ventured into Kingscliff to capture some of the atmosphere and highlight the beachside town's growing food reputation.

Bemused passers-by were fascinated with the production side of the show with present- er Livinia Nixon giving a commentary of the area in front of her small film crew.

The program is seen as a major confirmation of the Tweed's growing standing in the tourism marketplace, especially with the booming resort precinct at Salt and Casaurina.

Tweed tourism operators are confident that the national TV show will continue to generate interest in the area that will be sustained outside of traditional holiday periods.
