Tweed eyes top Qld club title
THE Tweed Heads Bowls Club is into the final of the Bowls Queenland Club of the year awards on their first attempt.
The club, who had never entered the competition before this year, has scooped the pool reaching the finals in three categories - Club of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Junior Player of the Year.
Club CEO Darryl Bozicevic said although based in NSW, the club was founded as the Coolangatta Tweed Heads Bowls Club 70 years ago.
He said since then, it has always been part of the QLD Association, which means it qualifies to enter the QLD awards.
"We are thrilled to have been nominated as one of three finalists in these prestigious awards," Bozicevic said. "It's a reflection of the sincere commitment shown by Club members."
