TWEED rower Tara Kelly will head to Amsterdam in July keen to better her bronze at last year's world under-23 championships.

The Tweed Heads Rowing Club member was selected in this year's Australian under-23 team on Sunday.

Kelly, 19, said she was confident of improving on last year's performance with new partner Anna McCraig from South Australia. The new pairing was selected after impressing at the recent rowing trials in Penrith.

Though they haven't raced together competitively before they will get an opportunity to compete at Lucerne, Switzerland before the titles.

Kelly won bronze at last year's world under-23 championships in Poland.
