Tweed woman slain in home

POLICE were late last night searching for a man after a 76-year-old Tweed Heads woman was found stabbed to death in her home.

The woman's body was found at her Endeavour Parade unit about 2.45pm.

Last night police said they were hoping to speak to a 45-year-old man.

He was described as being of white/European appearance, about 170cm tall, with a large build, and fair shoulder-length hair.

He was possibly wearing a white shirt and dark shorts and has an eagle tattoo on his shoulder. They warned members of the public not to approach the man and to immediately alert police.
