Upset keeps finals alive

THE Tweed District Soccer top four is no closer to being finalised after a weekend of upsets.

Pottsville moved off the bottom of the ladder with a stunning 3-1 win over fourth-placed Tweed Heads at Arkinstall Parkon Saturday.

In an intense game, Pottsville drew first blood at the 10-minute mark with a goal to Aaron Rogers. Tweed hit back straight away only to have the goal disallowed for an offside play. Pottsville extended their advantage just before half-time when Joe Lewis found the back of the net.

Teenager Daniel Foster gave Tweed some hope when he goaled just after the break but a Steve Reid goal just before full-time clinched the shock result.

Tumbulgum Rangers kept their minor premiership hopes alive with a 1-0 win over competition leaders Saints. While Uki defeated defending premiers Burringbar 2-0 and Hammers beat South Tweed Sports 4-2.
