Pottsville property tipped to break record

A LUXURY beachfront property at Pottsville may fetch a record price at auction for a property in that area, according to a local real estate agent.

The luxury two-storey home set on 808 square metres of land, only a stone's throw to Pottsville Beach, is expected to sell at auction for more than $1 million, according to estate agent Laraine Whyte of L.J Hooker Pottsville.

Enquiry from buyers interested in the five-bedroom home has been running hot for the last week, and Mrs Whyte said the property should sell for more than other unrenovated beachfront properties in the neigh- bourhood, that had sold for up to $980,000.

The nearly 40-square-metre home has attracted the interest of more than 70 potential buyers, mainly from the Gold Coast and Brisbane area.

"Absolute beachfront properties of this size are rare in the Pottsville area," Mrs Whyte said.

"And considering there will be no more beachfront land released in the area, this is a rare entry to the market."

The property at 4 Elfan Avenue has direct beach access, and features three living areas, a large entertainers' kitchen and master bedroom with ensuite complete with spa.

Saturday's auction will be held on site from 2pm.
