Woman critical following crash



A WOMAN was transported to The Tweed Hospital in a critical condition last night following a two-car collision on Gollan Way, West Tweed Heads.

The woman, whose identity is not known, was believed to be a passenger when a Lancer sedan and a Ford Falcon sedan collided head-on in the southbound lane of Golan Drive at about 5.30pm.

Tweed Valley Rescue volunteers were called to the scene and took 15 minutes to free the unconscious woman.

Police remained at the scene of the accident waiting for officers from the crash investigation unit to arrive.

The condition or number of others involved in the crash was not known.
