Appeal banks on support

BANK of Queensland Tweed Heads South staff raided the dress-up box yesterday to help launch the annual children’s hospitals appeal.

The staff donned hospital garb and handed out lollipops to kick off the 2010 BOQ Banking On Our Kids appeal.

BOQ Tweed Heads South’s Craig Tuckwell said the appeal was unique in that one donation would help five different hospitals.

“Because money donated to Banking On Our Kids goes to Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia, which is a partnership of major children’s hospitals in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, by donating once you’re actually helping sick and injured kids right around the country,” Mr Tuckwell said.

“The Tweed Heads South community has always been extremely generous and compassionate so we’re confident we’ll be able to blow the rest of the country out of the water by being the highest fundraising area in Australia.”
