TWEED blogger Chantelle Ellem has proven mummy bloggers are nothing to scoff at.

The Fat Mum Slim founder released photography app Little Moments at the end of June.

Within three hours it reached number one on the Apple App Store.

Ms Ellem said the app would help her readers follow her Photo A Day challenge, with special effects to boot.

"I hadn't even thought that it would," she said.

She couldn't yet say how many times it had been downloaded but within days Ms Ellem had received more than 500 emails applauding the app.

The Photo A Day challenge, Ms Ellem said, encouraged readers to share a photo daily, based on simple queues.

"People were saying they needed a way of remembering," Ms Ellem said.

Little Moments will encourage people to get on board the daily photo sharing trend - but you don't have to participate to use the app.

"It's really good to take some time out for yourself."

Ms Ellem said she'd had the opportunity to work with some great designers in making the app and some of her own artworks make an appearance too.

"I'm a creative person, so it was a really natural thing," she said.

While the vast majority of reviews so far boast a glistening five stars, Ms Ellem said just a few had been less than perfect.

"Any new app does have its teething problems," she said.

It's not just about pretty pictures; Ms Ellem has had some people say the Photo A Day Challenge has changed their lives.

She said for some people being encouraged to see and create something beautiful each day made a huge difference to their well-being.

Fat Mum Slim was founded in July 2008.

Since 2011, 13 million photos have been shared through the Photo A Day challenge.
