Armed holdup of restaurant

A MIAMI restaurant has become the latest target in the endless string of armed robberies to hit the coast.

Luckily, the two men who attempted to rob the restaurant were foiled in their efforts when interrupted by a passer-by.

Police are investigating reports that the men entered the restaurant armed with an iron bar and began demanding cash around 8.20am.

The female employee called out to a passer-by, causing the men to flee empty-handed.

They were last seen running towards the Gold Coast Hwy.

They have been described as Caucasian, around 165cm tall, both with a slim build and aged between 18 and 20-years-old.

No one was physically injured during the incident and police are continuing their investigations.
