Armed robber steals from Robina hotel bottle shop
A ROBINA hotel bottle shop fell prey to an armed robber last night.
About 11.15pm the man brandishing a handgun demanded money from a 41-year-old staff member on the cash register, after parking his car in the drive through of the Ron Penhaligon Way business.
Cash was given to the man and he returned to his car and left the scene, leaving the staff member uninjured.
Police were called to a vehicle on fire near the scene on Great Southern Dr about midnight, which they believe may have been involved in the robbery.
The man was described as being of caucasian appearance, 158cm tall, with a stocky build and brownish hair.
At the time of the robbery he was wearing a grey, hooded, long-sleeved jumper, jeans, gloves and a black cloth over his nose and mouth.
