Armed robberies linked, say police

GOLD Coast police have linked the armed robbery of a Labrador service station on Sunday morning to an armed robbery that occurred about an hour later at the Palm Beach Night Owl.

The Labrador incident occurred about 4.10am when the store attendant, who was cleaning the toilets outside of the Frank St premises, was approached by two men.

One of the men was wielding a firearm and demanded money from inside the shop.

As the attendant was unlocking the doors a third man armed with a weapon approached.

The three men fled with cash and cigarettes and were last seen jumping the back fence of the premises.

Two of the men were wearing black hooded jackets and dark tracksuit pants and the third man was wearing a white hooded jacket.

Detective Inspector Brian Swan said the Labrador incident was linked to the Palm Beach robbery, which occurred at about 5.05am.

"We do believe the robbery at the Palm Beach Night Owl is linked to the robbery at the Labrador Caltex," Det Insp Swan said.

Det Insp Swan could not confirm if the two incidents were linked to the KP McGrath Dr store robbery in Elanora last night or the Reedy Creek bakery robbery this morning.
Investigations are ongoing.
