Armed robbery attempt at Currumbin

GOLD Coast police are investigating an armed robbery attempt at a Currumbin shopping centre.

Police said a man entered a shop on Bienvenue Dr about 10.20am today and pulled out a knife.

He threatened a staff member before demanding money from the till.

He was last seen running from the store empty-handed.

The offender was described as Caucasian, late teens to early 20s, about 170cm tall with a slim build.

He was wearing a green jumper and black sunglasses.
